Mosque to be built in Grozny airport28.04.2009 11:58
“Mosque will be built in Grozny airport”, Ramzan Kadyrov, President of the Chechen Republic, declared, inspecting the customs equipment installation works and the international terminal arrangements.
Construction works were launched on the nearby square on 25 April. It is planned that the mosque will be spacious enough to gather simultaneously up to 200 persons.
According to Mr. Kadyrov, sometimes passengers have to spend hours awaiting the flight, so they must be provided with proper conditions for praying. “Besides, the mosque is even more demanded due to the intensive inflow of passengers and new flight schedule”, he added.
The Chechen president is firmly convinced that the mosque will become an integral part of the airport and its genuine adornment.
